Ibeo had a classic startup beginning. Founders Sjoerd and Geert spent their days building Ibeo from their attic and their nights working as bartenders to earn money. They know the hospitality industry inside and out—literally. From day one, they focused on automating bookkeeping for hospitality entrepreneurs, making accounting suddenly effortless.
The startup quickly grew into an innovative player in the market. Hard work paid off: the team expanded rapidly, things got more serious—but, above all, more fun. In 2016, the ambitious entrepreneurs even won the National Accountancy Awards.

In 2011
In 2011, IBEO was born. Founders Sjoerd and Geert started the company from their attic, spending their days building the business and their nights bartending to make ends meet. They knew the hospitality industry inside and out—literally.
In 2012
Ibeo took its first big step: moving into its first office—though calling it an office was a stretch. A small space, no windows, but plenty of ambition.
By 2013
Tradition was born. The first annual Christmas party took place, evolving into legendary dinners that became an unmissable event for the team and our partners.
In 2014
Growth came fast. In 2014, we moved to a bigger office, reflecting the company’s rapid development. The team expanded, the vision sharpened, and the impact grew.
In 2016
2016 was a milestone year. Winning the Dutch Accountancy Awards confirmed what we already knew: Ibeo was here to stay and shake up the industry.
By 2019
By 2019, our ambition went international. We set up our first team in Belgrade, Serbia—what started with one colleague is now a powerhouse of 36 professionals. That same year, we launched Becky.works, a staffing solution designed to help fellow accounting firms find and retain top talent.
In 2021
In 2021, Ibeo took another leap forward with the acquisition of IFIAC in Purmerend, a like-minded hospitality accounting firm.
In 2024
The momentum didn’t stop. In 2024, we strengthened our market position even further with the acquisition of ROI Financials in Rotterdam, solidifying our presence in the hospitality sector.
